In a bizarre partnership that challenges usual expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "An unusual meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying changes echo through the shadows." The plot introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret group.

The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Additional Content

Players who finish the adventure will receive an special katana together with several artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Latest Free Story Content

This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
